As we enter the month of October, we leave the season of warmth. And as the cold bite of winter nears, we here at LIME want to share some insight into our process of winter preparation.
Winter Preparation:
Healthy grass is hard to maintain, but it’s even harder to preserve throughout the winter season. This is precisely why LIME utilizes the following processes to ensure that your grass looks vibrant when Spring finally dawns:
1. Debris Clean-up: Surprisingly, debris on your property can badly damage your grass in the cold weather. That is why we will continue to visit your property to remove and dispose of all leaves and trash in your yard. This also prevents potential pests and mold from developing on your property.
2. Trim and Prune: A proper approach to trimming and pruning your shrubs will help against any frost or snow damage that may come in the winter. We are careful with our trimming approach to ensure your property has more vibrant growth in the Spring!
3. Core Aeration and Fertilization: In the winter season, the absorption of nutrients becomes challenging for your landscape. Core aeration is a process that makes nutrients significantly more accessible to your grass. Fertilization also provides grass exactly what it needs to survive Winter’s sting.
4. Mulch: Mulching is very important when it comes to flower and tree health. Mulch provides insulation against the cold, and moisture retention against the dry, thus maintaining vitality.
